3 colours

Hi everyone,
The weekend gone by has been full on with hubby doing the Kokoda challenge.  I've just recovered yesterday from all the running around and lack of sleep during the challenge.  It's amazing to see pics and you tube videos of the challenge from the competitor's point of view and other support crews.  Mud, mud and rivers of mud was in store for everyone.
I managed to buy some gumboots on the morning of the Kokoda and boy am I thankful.  Winning team from last year did the 96kms in just under 12 hrs, with the course slightly changed and more hills and creek crossings.  Our team did it in 24.24 hrs with all 4 coming in.  Out of 345 teams competing only 131 teams came in with the full team of 4.  1380 ppl competed, 893 finished the course.  Our boys came 34th out of the 131 full  teams.  How awesome is that...  I can also say I can fall asleep sitting upright in a car or a deck chair outside waiting for them to come into checkpoint, 4am in the morning...

Back to the card I've made that will suit the challenge over at http://especiallymade.blogspot.com.au/p/weekly-challenge_11.html - 3rd Week: Create a card using three of the specified item (3 colour challenge)

Konnichiwa

Good Morning
Another overcast day here.  This weekend is gonna be a huge weekend with my other half competing in the 96km Kokoda Challenge down the coast.  He said this is gonna be the 3rd and final time his doing it. ( This is a fund raising event to help our young ppl who've had a difficult life and showing them about team work and co-operation and give them the confidence to better themselves.)  The aim is not only to complete the course in the time give but beat the clock as well.  Their aim for this year is 20hrs.  Last years winning team did it in just over 10 hrs.  How good is that.  I get to do support again this year which is just as huge in a different way, making sure your at the right checkpoint when they come in to refuel and repack their rations to get on the way.
No walk in the park for this challenge.  From start to finish we get to track the teams on Google Earth and see where their at.  Too bad I don't get to see that happening since I'll be out on the road at various checkpoints.  Here's a link to anyone whose interested about the challenge http://kokodachallenge.com/

Anyway back to this card I made for the challenge over at http://especiallymade.blogspot.com.au/p/weekly-challenge.html  , http://lalalandcrafts.blogspot.com/  in the Customer Gallery section, http://blog.markerpop.com/2012/07/01/markerpop-challenge-1-blog-hop/.  I use LaLa Land Stamp, coloured it in Copic Markers, Spica pen is give the hair a bit of highlighting,  Spellbinders Shapeabilities for the embellishments, and Candi brads to finish it off.

Have a gr8 day
cheers

LEST WE FORGET

Hiya blogging friends and visitors,
The drama's of a Cricut Gypsy that had come back from the dead....   Note to self, don't do anything silly with it.
Onto the challenges out there.  I notice there's a lot of red, white n blue, stars n stripes, 4th July themes happening.  So for my take since we're in the Land Downunder and don't celebrate the 4th July, I thought I'd do one in the theme colours in support of our troops deployed around the world, past and present armed services.

A very big THANKS to all armed forces and personnel

Stars and Sparkles

Bonjour
My Gypsy has died  :( and the trouble I've had to try and get it replaced with a new one (re-serializing it with the orginal number) is painful beyond belief.  Makes you wonder about linking the cartridges onto the machine in the first place.  Provocraft certainly don't make it easy for crafters that don't live in the United States or Canada....
Can you believe it's July and it's the count down towards Christmas...  Looks like I should start planning my Chrissy cards soon.  I was asked to make a male teen card for a friend of mine for his nephew who in a band and plays the guitar.  I might have to retake the pic tomorrow in natural light to show the colours in better light.

This card fits into the challenge over at  http://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com.au/  #143 (Wild Card) - Stars and Sparkles

Cricut - Quater Note, CCR basic font, Gyspy wanderings
SU - cardstock
various papers, blak glitter, lace ribbon.
